The situation
Shared things drift.
Household accounts get set up once, in a hurry, by whoever was holding the phone. A year later nobody remembers which email it was under, and the person who knows is out.
So the answers live in a group chat, a kitchen drawer, and three different heads, and none of those agree with each other.
A card is a single place the whole house can point at. Not because it is clever, but because it has a location.
How to run it
One card for the house.
-
I
Household only
Keep personal logins off it. This card is the router, the meter, the TV, the school portal.
-
II
One password, said once
Agree the password with the adults who need it. Change it when the household changes.
-
III
A fixed place
The card lives in one drawer, not in a pocket. Everyone knows the drawer.
-
IV
A yearly read
Once a year, read it through and delete what the house no longer uses.
Shared does not have to mean
scattered.
