The position
Remove ourselves from the loop.
Companies change. They are bought, funded, pressured, mismanaged and occasionally dishonest. Any promise we make about how we behave is worth less than an arrangement where our behaviour does not matter.
So we hold nothing. There is no account, no vault on our side, no copy of your password, no record of what you wrote or when. Not because we promise to delete it, because it never reaches us.
The uncomfortable corollary is that we cannot rescue you. If you forget your password, we have nothing to unlock. We think that is the honest trade.
What we do not have
The short list.
-
I
Your password
It is never transmitted and never stored. It exists in your memory and briefly in your phone's memory.
-
II
Your vault
The encrypted contents live on the card. We have no copy to hand over to anyone.
-
III
Your identity
There is no sign-up, so there is no list of customers matched to cards.
-
IV
A back door
There is no recovery path that runs through us, for you or for anyone else.
No trust required.
That is the point.
