The brief
Aging is fine. Failing is not.
A bank card in daily use looks tired after three years: a scuffed face, softened corners, a hairline crease. It still works, because it was designed around wear rather than against it.
We took the same view. Matte black shows fingerprints less than gloss and hides scuffs better than colour. A single fine line is more forgiving than printed text, which looks damaged the moment part of it goes.
What must not degrade is the part you cannot see: the internal layer that holds your encrypted vault, and its ability to be read through a phone case, a wallet and a pair of gloves.
Everyday reality
What it lives through.
- Bending
- Wallet flex from sitting down, thousands of times over
- Abrasion
- Keys, coins and other cards in the same pocket
- Moisture
- Rain, a damp coat, a wet counter
- Heat
- A car dashboard in summer, a coat by a radiator
- Reading
- Through a case and a wallet, held flat against the phone
It should look used.
It should not stop working.
