The card stores encrypted data, never readable secrets.

How it works

Creating a vault is simple enough to show right here.

  1. 01

    Add your secrets

Passwords, recovery phrases and private notes.

  2. 02

    Choose a Vault Password

Only you know it. MI8OS never keeps a copy.

  3. 03

    Encrypted on your phone

    Before anything reaches the card.

  4. 04

    Tap your card

Hold it to your phone and the vault is saved.

The three-card system

One vault.
Three places.

Important things deserve more than one copy. Keep one card with you, one at home and one somewhere safe. Each card holds the same encrypted vault, and none of them depends on a server.

Card 01

Carry

Your everyday copy.

Card 02

Home

Your local backup.

Card 03

Elsewhere

Your off-site backup.

Security architecture

Nothing readable
ever touches
the card.

Your phone handles the encryption, and the card stores the encrypted vault. To open it, you need both the card and your password.

  • Encrypt first. Encryption happens on your phone before anything is written to the card.

  • Ciphertext only. The card stores encrypted data, never readable secrets.

  • Loss ≠ disclosure. Finding a card is not enough to open the vault. If you lose your phone, install MI8OS on another compatible phone, tap an existing card and enter the vault password to restore access.

  • Your key. Your password creates the encryption key on your phone. MI8OS never keeps a copy.

MI8OS app for iPhone and Android

Your phone encrypts.
Your card stores.

Use the MI8OS app to create a vault, lock it and write it to your cards. There is no account to set up, and it works on the phone you already use.

The cloud is a choice.
Ownership is not.

With MI8OS, your encrypted vault lives on a card in your hand instead of only on a remote service. Use the cloud if it suits you. Your cards do not depend on it.

FAQ

Questions,
answered plainly.

What can I store on a MI8OS card?

Passwords, recovery phrases, private notes and other important pieces of information you want to keep offline.

Why are there three cards?

One goes with you, one stays at home and one lives somewhere else. If a card goes missing, you still have two copies.

What happens if I lose one?

Your other cards still hold the vault. The lost card contains encrypted data that cannot be opened without your password.

Can someone read information directly from the card?

No. The card stores encrypted data. Opening it requires the MI8OS app and your password.

Do I need internet access?

No. You can create, write, read and unlock a vault entirely on your phone.

Can I update the vault later?

Yes. Change the vault in the app, then tap each card you want to update.

What if I lose my phone?

Install MI8OS on another compatible phone, tap any of your cards and enter the vault password to restore access.

What if I forget my vault password?

It cannot be reset or recovered. MI8OS has no recovery code, reset email or support override.
