Encryption happens on your phone

You type your entries in the MI8OS app and choose a Vault Password. Your phone turns that password into a key and encrypts the whole vault.

Only the encrypted result is written to the card. MI8OS uses Argon2id to make password guessing deliberately expensive. A long, unique passphrase remains essential.

Install MI8OS on another compatible phone, tap any card and enter the vault password to restore access.

I forget my vault password.

The vault cannot be reset or recovered. There is no reset option, recovery code or hidden way around the password.

Does the card need charging?
