How many secrets fit in a vault?
Enough for dozens of passwords, phrases and notes. It is best used for the important things you really want to keep.
Can I keep different vaults on different cards?
Yes. Each card holds one vault, and each vault has its own password.
Do I have to rewrite all three cards every time?
No. Each card is independent, so you can update a copy whenever you have it with you.
Can I name the cards?
Yes, you can name them in the app. The cards themselves remain blank.
Does the card need charging?
No. It has no battery and is powered by your phone during a tap.
Security
What if.
Someone steals my phone and a card.
They still need your password. The card only contains encrypted data.
Someone finds a card I lost.
They have an unlabelled card containing encrypted data. There is nothing on it that identifies you or the vault.
MI8OS as a company disappears.
Your cards do not depend on an account or MI8OS server to hold their data.
I lose my phone.
Install MI8OS on another compatible phone, tap any card and enter the vault password to restore access.
I forget my vault password.
The vault cannot be reset or recovered. There is no reset option, recovery code or hidden way around the password.
